Supreme Court verdict on reservation:

Supreme Court verdict on reservation: There was a fierce commotion in Lok Sabha, know which party said in the House

The government on Monday made it clear that it is committed to reservation for SC and ST, amid allegations of being anti-Dalit by opposition parties over a Supreme Court ruling on reservation in appointments and promotions. In his statement in the Lok Sabha on the issue, Social Justice and Empowerment Minister Thawar Chand Gehlot said, "The central government is not a party to this issue and this decision is being considered at a high level." He said that no affidavit was sought from the Government of India regarding this decision, the Government of India will take the right steps. Gehlot said, "We are committed and dedicated to reservation." He said that this is the case of 2012 when the Congress government was in Uttarakhand.

The minister also said that the government will consider this issue in a holistic manner. On this, the members of the Congress lodged a strong protest. Congress leader in the Lok Sabha, Adhir Ranjan Chaudhary, tried to make his point, but he and other members of the Congress walked out of the House if Asan did not give permission. The issue of a court verdict also overshadowed the Question Hour and Zero Hour in the Lok Sabha and the Congress and some opposition parties accused the government of being anti-Dalit. Opposition parties asked the government to file a review petition in the Supreme Court. On this, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh said that this is a very sensitive issue and it is not right for the Congress to do politics on such an issue.

Singh said, "I want to say that there was a Congress government in Uttarakhand in 2012. The way the Congress is doing politics on such a sensitive issue is not right." The constituents of the ruling NDA at the Center, like Lok Janshakti Party, Janata Dal United and Apna Dal in the House, rejected the allegations of opposition as well as expressing disagreement with the decision of the Supreme Court on the subject of reservation from the government in the 9th Schedule of the Constitution. Demanded to put in.

Congress

Raising the issue, Adhir Ranjan Chaudhary of the Congress alleged that on behalf of the Uttarakhand government, it was asked in the court that the reservation be removed and only after that it was decided that recruitment or promotion are not fundamental rights. He said that Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes were ignored for centuries and they were given reservation rights in the Constitution. At the time of the previous Congress government, plans were made for these disadvantaged sections and a law was brought for protection. But the present government wants to take away this right from SC and ST. On this, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Prahlad Joshi said that the Government of India had nothing to do with the decision of the Supreme Court and in 2012 there was a Congress government in Uttarakhand. He demanded that whatever has been said about the Government of India in this regard, it should be removed from the proceedings.

Lok Janshakti Party (LJP)

Chirag Paswan of LJP said that reservation is not a bailout but it is a constitutional right. He disagrees with the Supreme Court's decision on this subject. He said "The government should intervene in this matter. All subjects related to reservation should be put in the 9th schedule of the constitution so that the debate on this subject is concluded." Chirag said that it is not right for the Opposition to call the government as anti-Dalit and the NDA Government has done many times to strengthen the SC, ST, OBC class.

Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK)
DMK KA Raja said "There is a feeling that the constitution is being hit during this government. Reservation has been defined in Article 16 (4). The issue was resolved in a decision of the apex court. But bar- This time it comes. " He said that the government should file a review petition on this issue.

Janata Dal United (JDU)
JDU's Rajiv Ranjan Singh alias Lalan Singh said that the whole House is unanimous regarding the decision of the court on the issue of reservation. When the whole House is unanimous on this subject, then its politicization is not right. He said that even when the issue of SC, ST atrocities first came up, the NDA government had also brought a strong law and the government will deal with it even further.

Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP)
Ritesh Pandey of BSP accused the government of being anti-Dalit and said that the right to reservation has been given in the constitution and he disagrees with the decision of the court.

Apna Dal
Anupriya Patel of Apna Dal said that she disagreed with the court's decision on reservation. He said, "I want to say that this is the most unfortunate decision against the rights conferred on the SC, ST and OBC. It is a disgrace to the underprivileged." He said that such decisions often come because SC, ST, OBC is not represented in the judiciary.

National Congress Party (NCP)
NCP's Supriya Sule said "the ruling party has said that they are doing something on this subject, I request that action should be taken on this subject soon".

Marxist Communist Party (CPIM)
CPI-M's AM Arif demanded a review petition and a law on the subject.

Indian Union Muslim League (IUML)
ET Mohammed Bashir of IUML said that if the court verdict is implemented then it would be a setback to the basic principle of social justice. Earlier, at the commencement of the house proceedings in the morning, Congress leader Adhir Ranjan Chaudhary and other party members wanted to raise the issue. DMK, CPI (M) and BSP members also stood in their places and tried to speak on the issue, Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla pushed forward the Question Hour, but the noise of opposition members continued. On this, Birla said that members should raise this subject in zero hour because the House has decided to allow the Question Hour to run smoothly. On a Congress member commenting that 'the constitution is in danger', Birla said that "the constitution is not in danger. Why are you risking the dignity of Parliament?"

During this, Deputy Leader of the House and Defense Minister Rajnath Singh said that the court has given an order. This is a sensitive matter and the Minister of Social Justice will give a statement on it. After this, Birla said that the members should raise this subject during the Zero Hour to which the government will reply. Then he moved the question hour forward. Significantly, the Supreme Court had said that reservation in promotion is not a fundamental right.
